Where did the word Camu Camu originally come from?
When the Camu Camus mature, they start falling to the ground by the gust
of the wind. The trees can be found by rivers and streams, and as they fall, fish all gather underneath, waiting for a treat. Each time the Camu Camus fall into the river, the natives would hear a unique sound like "Camus " when fish would eat them. Hence the name, Camu Camu.
How do we get imported Camu Camu to Japan?
The fruit, trees, and seeds are so precious to the country of Peru, that we cannot import them to Japan. However, the Camu Camu can be imported in the following three styles: Frozen pulp (18kg in the plastic bucket,) Juice Packs (5kgx2,) and in powder form.
Inside Peru, the fruit can also be processed in a concentrated juice form. Most of the time, these three forms of Camu Camu are shipped to Japan. And then the food and drink ompanies use the Camu Camu to produce drinks, ice creams, snacks, etc to sellin Japan.
